Recently I got a Whatsapp message from one of my friends in Singapore. She was asking me about new diet pill called “Malia Mellias XXS Slimming Pill” (brand name is MM XXS Diet Pill). I got curious since the name sounded interesting. As a result, I spent this morning doing research and writing this review!
From my observation, it appears that the product is temporarily not available. Either the seller is facing too much demand or no demands at all. I do not know the exact manufacturer of this pill. A company named “Malia Mellias Singapore” is currently marketing this supplement. They are claiming to be the official retailer.
Now let’s see what the product claims to do.
Other slimming products come individually (Eg: for detoxification, fat burning) XXS comes all in one. It goes through detox process first. After removing toxins it will start to burn fat, curbs hunger and increase your metabolism.
How does it Work?
XXS diet pill contain bitter orange extract. Bitter orange gives stimulant like effect. Among the many chemicals in bitter orange are synerprine and octopamine. These chemicals may speed-up your heart rate and raise your blood pressure. You cannot combine it with other stimulant like caffeine.
Upon consumption XXS diet pill, your body will initially go through detoxification process. It means secreting all the unwanted stuff in your body including water and fatty acids. After 2-3 days of detoxification, it will continue with following actions.
Here is the list of claimed benefits
- Boosting fat metabolism and blocking the non-fat material converting into fat.
- Promoting satiety and controlling the fat intakes effectively.
- Smoothing the intestines to relax the bowels and clearing the intestines system.
My doubts and concern. How a diet pill will work differently after 3 days?
What are the ingredients and how they work?
Bitter orange is the primary ingredient used in XXS diet pill. Many herbal weight-loss products now use concentrated extracts of bitter orange peel in place of ephedra. However, bitter orange contains the chemical synephrine, which is similar to the main chemical in ephedra.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned ephedra because it raises blood pressure and is linked to heart attacks and strokes; it is unclear whether bitter orange has similar effects. There is currently little evidence that bitter orange is safer to use than ephedra. [ref]
Lotus root contains many essential vitamins. Lotus stem is a great source of Vitamin C, which helps boost the immunity of a person and fight viral infections. The root also contains essential minerals like zinc, magnesium, copper and iron, which help the body in the production of red blood cells. Further. they are rich in dietary fiber and low on saturated fats. Hence it keeps a person’s calorie count in check. [ref]
It is a bitter, sweet and salty in flavor. Cassia seed extract is beneficial in problems related to intestine, liver, large intestine and vision. The seed extract is also used as an alternative to coffee. The seed is slightly cold in nature and hence works better on liver and large intestine. [ref]
It is a diuretic and is used to rid the body of excess water. It has mild and safe tonic qualities that especially affect the kidney and bladder. Also, it is often combined with other herbs in general tonic formulas. It is used to treat kidney stones, pelvic infections, nephritis, and other urinary tract infections, as well as yellowish discharges from the vagina.
Alisma is also believed to have an antibacterial action that helps control infection. In China, alisma is also used to help rid the body of phlegm, to reduce feelings of abdominal bloating, and to treat diabetes. The herb is also widely used in Japan. [ref]
L-carnitine is an amino acid (a building block for proteins) that is naturally produced in the body.
L-carnitine supplements are used to increase L-carnitine levels in people whose natural level of L-carnitine is too low because they have a genetic disorder, are taking certain drugs (valproic acid for seizures), or because they are undergoing a medical procedure (hemodialysis for kidney disease) that uses up the body’s L-carnitine. It is also used as a replacement supplement in strict vegetarians, dieters, and low-weight or premature infants. [ref]
Potential Side Effects of XXS Diet Pill
Bitter orange contains chemicals that may speed up the heart rate and raise blood pressure. Although it may not be safe to use as a dietary supplement, it is a popular among dieters. There have been reports of fainting, heart attack, and stroke in healthy people after taking bitter orange supplements alone or combined with caffeine. People should avoid taking bitter orange supplements if they have a heart condition or high blood pressure. If you are taking medications (such as MAO inhibitors), caffeine, or other herbs/supplements then you must avoid bitter-orange.
Where to buy it?
It is sold on Malia Mellias Sg website only. As of writing this, they have officially closed sales and not accepting any more pre-orders. You can find more information on their Facebook or Instagram page.
Final Verdict With Alternative
I guess that I do not have to make another list of pros and cons. I think, pretty much I have concluded this article. If you are looking for a “Made in America” diet pill, then I suggest you to check-out Phen375. Please keep in mind that, there is no better alternative for healthy eating habits and regular exercise. I’m giving just 2 star due to dangerous potential side effects it can cause.
