Lipozene is one of the popular diet pills heavily advertised on TV and online. When I say “popular” it does not mean “most effective”. A product can become popular due to 1) word of mouth advertising or 2) heavy marketing. In the case of Lipozene the 2nd is the truth! Daily I get atleast 20-30 people searching for Lipozene diet pills related search term. I don’t know whether they come here searching for reviews or to buy . I am sure, TV Commercials made them to search for Lipozene.
What is Lipozene?
Lipozene is a brand of supplement that has been manufactured by a company referred to as Obesity Research Institute. The supplement claims to be very helpful when it comes to suppression of appetite and losing weight without necessarily changing your diet or going through regular exercise.
According to manufacturer, “The active ingredient in Lipozene is Glucomannan, an all natural super-fiber from the Konjac Root plant. It can make you feel full faster and for longer, helping you to eat less and lose weight. Lipozene has sold over 25 million bottles, assisting countless people in meeting their weight loss goals. Just take two pills, 30 minutes before each meal, up to three times per day with 8 oz of water. It’s that easy!
Who Is behind Lipozene?
How it works?
The supplement contains a water soluble fiber that is called glucomannan which is the only active ingredient. It is extracted from the roots of the konjac plant. This fiber has an ability to absorb water that is quite extraordinary. For this reason, it can be used as food additive for thickening food. It helps in a number of conditions, such as loss of weight, reduction in levels of cholesterol and blood sugar levels and relief from constipation.
There are a number of benefits that are attributed to taking Lipozine. One of these such benefits is the fact that Lipozene ensures you are full. Due to the fact that it absorbs water and then expands in the stomach. This will as a result slow the rate at which food will leave your stomach. The end result is to make you fuller for a longer period of time.
These capsules are also low calorie. Therefore, they help you reduce your intake of calories as they will make you feel fuller for longer without adding excessive calories into your body. As a result, the absorption of other nutrients such as fats and proteins and so you will get less calories from your diet.
As with all other supplements, Lipozene also has its own side effects. It is preferable to take the capsule as compared to the powder. This is because the powder is very absorbent. If taken, it might cause a blockage to form before the powder has reached your stomach.
Ingredients of Lipozene 1500 mg
Lipozene’s main ingredient is Propol, which is company’s trademarked name for glucomannan which is nothing but a soluble fiber found in konjac root. Glucomannan is the Western name for vegetable fibers derived from an Asian plant family known as konjac.
How Glucomannan works?
According to a study done by the Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago in 2005 “Glucomannan may promote weight loss. At doses of 2-4 g per day, Glucomannan was well-tolerated and resulted in significant weight loss in overweight and obese individuals”
According to Drug Digest “Glucomannan does not dissolve in water, but forms a thick, gooey gel when exposed to fluids. The body does not digest glucomannan, so the resulting large soft mass moves through the intestines and may trigger intestinal muscle contractions.”

User Feedback
All these frightened me and I started searching online for user feedback online in various forums and comments for different articles on Lipozene. Though most were negative, I got many positive comments also. Don’t know whether they are true or just spams. As of today, there are 86 star rating on Amazon. Out of which 35% are positives and 34% have 1 start. Please note that you can’t leave “zero” star on Amazon. Overall, it appears that around 50% customers are happy with Lipozine and remaining 50% are not happy.
Positive comment- I understand that this particular supplement doesn’t work for everyone, and that’s okay, not every person’s body is the same however, I’ve been taking this for over a year and have gone from 196 lbs to 143 lbs. No, I don’t have to take it every day, once I lost the weight, but I do take it when I know I will need it, like the holidays.A tip for those who are beginning the program, make sure to take the MetaboUp with your first dose everyday. It boosts the pills and your metabolism, making the results much more significant.
Negative comment – I think I know why lipozene works. You crap out everything you have ever consumed since you were born, & you can’t leave the bathroom long enough to eat anything to replenish your body, so you basically starve to death on the toilet while your intestines reverse themselves out of your butt. Another customer said ” It results in diarrhea and cramps, loss of sleep, vomiting etc”. But I could not contact anyone personally who has used Lypozene.
Where to Buy lipozene?
Even after reading this if you want to go for lypozene it is your choice! Price $29.95 for one bottle ( there is buy one get one free offer). From Amazon.com, you can buy it without 1+1 offer for $13. But take plenty of water to minimize side effects.
Recommendation
I do not endorse lipozene whose main ingredient is fiber. Instead, you have easier and cheaper ways to get fiber into your diet by consuming high fiber fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains. It would be more advisable to start off with a small amount at first and then later increase it gradually. Having lots of fiber in your system suddenly may cause you lots of distress in your digestive system. Even though the supplement is highly tolerated, there are some cases of nausea. It is also common for users to complain of diarrhea, stomach discomfort or constipation.
In case you are taking any form of medication especially a diabetes medication, you will need to consult your doctor before you embark on using this supplement. This is because the supplement may reduce how effective the drug is by blocking absorption.
